The Passage is a homelessness charity, based on Carlisle Place, that supports people who are street homeless or living in insecure accommodation.
Homelessness can happen to any one of us; redundancy, home repossession, a broken relationship, mental illness, violence or abuse can all result in someone losing the roof over their head. Not having a home makes it that much harder to find a job, stay healthy and maintain relationships.
I’m sure you can’t have failed to notice the alarmingly high number of people sleeping rough on our streets, and often wondered what services are available, and anyways that you can help. This is where The Passage comes in, providing a lifeline to those that have fallen on hard times, offering health and emotional support, accommodation and employment solutions that enable our clients to build a sustainable pathway off the street and transform their lives for good. Since they were established in 1980, they’ve helped more than 130,000 people to move away from rough sleeping permanently.
On Monday 9th September, we invite you to come and learn more about what The Passage does, and find out ways that you can help as an organisation or as an individual.
