As part of our agenda to promote wellbeing across Victoria and Westminster, we held our first ever De-Stress Fest on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 of March 2019.
The two day festival was packed with a lot of interactive activities, competitions, prizes, events, a live kitchen and De-Stress Stations in the Victoria and Victoria Westminster BID areas.
We were successfully able to carry out our vision to promote wellbeing in our BID areas by collaborating with some wonderful business in the area such as The Grosvenor Hotel, Double Tree by Hilton, Whittards of Chelsea, Frame, St James’ Court, A Taj Hotel, Hotpod Yoga, The Nadler Hotel, Crosstown Doughnuts, Westminster Cathedral, Market Hall Victoria, Molton Brown, Franco Manca, Iberica, Sourced Market, Luxe Hardy, The Slow Life Concept by Barbiagove, Coffee Geek and Friends, Vagabond, The Jones Family Kitchen, Bill’s, 360 Athletic and T2.
On both days, our De-Stress Station at Victoria station offered visitors the chance to make their own smoothie with the help of a smoothie bike, and to cycle to the top of our leader board to win a prize from a local business. Visitors at the De-Stress Station could also sit back and relax with a ten minute arm and hand massage from Molton Brown or a head massage from the Slow Life Concept.
Our De-Stress Station at Westminster Underground Station allowed visitors to let their creativity run wild on our interactive colour wall which was covered in an interview by the BBC.
On Wednesday 13 March, Taj Hotels provided a delicious vegetarian breakfast spread from 7 – 9am which included a selection of healthy Mediterranean dishes such as Goat cheese with herbs, rocket leaf & sundried tomato salad, roasted pepper hummus/crushed avocado relish, Greek yoghurt with honey & pine nuts, stewed figs with cinnamon and many more.
At 10.30am, the Live Kitchen which was hosted by Lisa Marley began. It included a filter coffee masterclass with Coffee Geek and Friends, followed by an experience at The Soak by Grosvenor Hotel. After several other activities, the live kitchen ended at 6.30pm with a fine English wine tasting and masterclass with Vagabond.
Other events included a de-stress masterclass with M Restaurants, SPILL counselling, the doggy Cuddle Club, a morning Iyengar yoga at Jiva Spa and vegetarian afternoon tea at St James’ Court Taj Hotel, a Matcha masterclass at T2, a Pilates demonstration with Monica Halper, a complimentary Hotpod Yoga class and a physiotherapy triage session with Christopher Bestwick, amongst others.
We were thrilled to see people in the area get involved with all of our curated activities and truly slow down, experience the events and take a moment to De-Stress
